Kia

Kia, also known as Kia Comedy, is an entertainer, writer, and activist who is currently touring the country with her signature “Lez Laugh” and “Queer Comedy” shows.  No stranger to the fashion scene, Kia served as producer of the "Dapper" and "Ice" The Andro Fashion Shows.  She has been on the Wendy Williams show, and Kia has performed with many prominent comedians, including Luenell, Comedian Shang, and TK Kirkland.  Kia is also the host of SVTV Network’s “Queer Comedy Jam,” which features the best LGBTQ comedians from all over the country.

Kia uses her entertainment platform to encourage acceptance, diversity, and unity in all communities. She does so by sharing her experiences growing up in church, as an educator, as number 11 of 12 siblings.  Kia recently completed a Fulbright Research Fellowship to study abroad in Belize, and her research is published and implemented in American curricula and potentially in classrooms throughout the country.

Kia has also had several articles published, including many in “Curve” Magazine, the most heavily circulated lesbian periodical, and Kia was also be featured in the November 2016 issue of “Glamour Magazine.”  Kia is a speaker for Georgia Equality and an advocate and activist in the LGBTQ community. For those reasons, Kia knew the community would appreciate the opportunity to see Dapper, Masculine-Identified Lesbians in only the finest menswear.   “So often we’re forced to pretend to act and be like someone we are not. The Andro Fashion Show was created to give Masculine-Identified Lesbians the opportunity to showcase their style without having to compromise their comfort.”   To keep up with Kia’s next community events visit her website at www.KiaComedy.com or on all things social media under Kia Comedy.
